It's already been a month?!

Sometimes it feels like I just got here.  I was in such a daze of disbelief when I got on the plane at LAX, the reality of my trip beginning not yet setting in, and now I've been here a month and a day!

After Shoko, Caroline, Heidy and I woke up at around 1 p.m. on Thursday.  Having already accidentally missed class, we enjoyed a lazy day of grocery shopping, eating, and watching Forgetting Sarah Marshall with Jackie later that night.

On Friday, I finally visited Parc Güell, Gaudí's complex and beautiful garden/park built from 1900-1914.  The background picture of my blog is an artistic rendition of Parc Güell, and this was one of the few places I knew of and wanted to see before coming to Barcelona.

Heidy is so happy she is blissfully blinking...

...human centipede...but with actual centipedes?  what were they doing???  still grossed out/disturbed.

The background of my blog...in real life!

On Saturday, I went on a guided tour of Freixenet, a Cava (sparkling wine) producer west of Barcelona.  The tour covered everything from the cork, to the bottle shape, to the production of the wine, and took us into the depths of the dusty cellars.

The tour included a glass of Freixenet's Cava at the end.

Enjoying our sparkling wine along with pan con tomate.

Back home, I did laundry, ate dinner, and took a long nap.  At night, I went to Sutton, a nightclub in Barcelona.

I enjoyed my up-close-and-personal view of the male dancer who kept wiggling his fingers, hips, and eyebrows.
